Vintage & Designers market in Santa Catalina

When I was a teenager, my amazing auntie Grazia introduced me to the universe of vintage markets. And that was the start of a long life love! I remember us, waking up at sunrise, on Saturday winter mornings, and taking the train to Bologna, to head to Montagnola traditional vintage market. That was a vintage lovers paradise.

We used to go in winter, and in Northern Itlay it gets freezing  cold, but we didn't care at all. The excitement to score those treasures was way mor powerful. Vintage cargo pants, silk robes from the 50's,  the coziest cardigan knit , fancy sunglasses from the '60s and 70s. Wow!

We would stop for a quick lunch (piadina on the go as we didn't want to miss any special find during our hunt!). It was so. much. fun! Then we would head home with big bags filled with unique pieces that we would customize (with the help of my grandmother and great grandmother! ). And we had a new special closet on a little budget!

And now many years after, some things have changed (I now live in Spain, on a beautiful island, and started my own sustainable label) but I'm still passioned about vintage markets, second hand clothes, and enjoy so much the magic we can make with them  with the power of styling, customizing and mixing  them with design pieces for example.

So I was excited to attend El Mercadet market, organized by Sonia and Jesús, from In Progress that also happen to be my coworkers , but I'll share more about our space in another post :) Our stall was all about a vintage selection I made for this special edition of the Market, and Sunvibes designs that can be mixed with these pieces, to build a 100% sustainable and most of all, inspiring outfit.
Many people attended the event and it was nice to get to meet new customers, having friends visiting. We also had live music by The Lovelies and treats by mama Carmen's café.

El Mercadet Market is every last Saturday of the Month. Make sure not to miss the next edition! You can shop our sustainable, vintage inspired dresses here.
