How to create your own Oasis I A self care post
How to create your own Oasis
A self care post
.
Sunday. One of my favourite.
A day designed to rest and take it easy.
Slow down and be in the moment, and sometimes, doing nothing at all.
.
Having a creative, growing business, with the years I have learnt that for me, phases of very intense and fulfilling creative work, are followed by days that call for rest and recharge, and if for years I was trying to be at my 120% ALL the time, I am now learning how to embrace (and love) these cycles, and am really, really happy about how things are shifting in a more positive way.
.
.
Since few weeks, I am also doing an experiment,
and stay off my phone for as much as I can on Sundays.
I find myself happily surprised by how more in the flow I am,
and how many and good creative ideas come to mind.
So much so, that I now carry with me a notebook
(or 3, each one for a different topic),
to write/draw them and then be back to the moment,
ensuring that they will not get lost.
.
.
I have created my own ritual of what I do when I have a half day or full day for myself, and I thought I would share it with you, so that maybe you can try some ideas or some of my favorite self care products.
.
PREPARATION
.
On Saturday, I usually buy fresh flowers/forage some from our terrace garden and create few little arrangements for the living room, entrance, and bathrooms, AND pay a trip to the public library (Santa Catalina has a fantastic one) to find books and movies for the upcoming week.
.
My reads for the next 2 weeks
.
SUNDAY - CREATING YOUR OWN OASIS
.
First, I take a long hike while listening to audiobooks/podcasts.
I listen to my body to see if it is an ocean side or forest kind of day.
Yesterday, it was an ocean side kind of day.
.
.
1. BEAUTIFYING
Showing yourself some love daily is important
because it reminds you of your own worth,
and of the importance to take care of yourself,
just as you do with your loved ones.
So, after the hike, I treated myself with some beauty,
and products I love:
I first dry brushed myself with essential oils using Nourish Cleanse blend
I used Gaia Natural Palma Rosa Face polisher during my shower to have my skin gently exfoliated and moisturised at the same time.

I put on some self tan mousse for that Endless summer feel (YES, I use it all year round) - Saint Tropez self tan mousse is the one that works best with my skin and I love the natural looking effect.
.
2. FOOD FOR THE MIND AND THE SOUL
.
I then take time to journal, meditate and set one intention for my day ahead.
This manifesting journal is from Dreamy Moons and it is one creative piece of art, for the illustrations and for the wisdom that its young author Annie Tarasova poured in each page.
.
.
During the journaling, I was sipping Solstice Pink coconut drink.
I still love coffee, but if you want a beautiful alternative to reduce the caffeine in you life, I would recommend to try it.
.
.
3. CREATE A DREAMY SET UP
..
After this, I set up my own nook in the Sun: vintage fabric on the sun bed, books, favorite music, healthy breakfast followed by a healthy lunch, soaking all the sunshine and enjoying the slower pace.
.
.
4. DRESSING UP FOR YOUR HOLIDAY SELF
.
I like to wear a special piece, like the Free Spirit Kimono in Camelia to feel that vacation vibes. Because if you think, each Sunday is a vacation!
.
I end my self care Sunday meditating about the new week ahead,
and planning it out, so that I start on Monday with more ease, and a grounded energy.
..
.
.
I hope you liked this personal post, and would love to hear from you.

.
Let me know in the comments and I will reply.

.
Also, I wanted to remind you that you can come visit me at my studio&showroom, try on the Free Spirit kimono
and many other beautiful styles (I sew new ones each week, yay!)
by booking a session with me here.
.
And that on Saturday NOVEMBER 2nd ,
I'll be at Mama Carmen's People's Market, 10am-2pm, with ***NEW*** pieces that I'm sewing these days.
.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
